Global Investment Institute congratulates Michael Blayney on his appointment to the role of General Manager, Dynamic Asset Allocation at HESTA.
HESTA is an Australian industry superannuation fund with A$93 billion in assets under management and over 1.05 million members.
Michael brings over 27 years of expertise in investment management, consulting, and superannuation, working with some of the world’s leading institutions. In his new role, he will lead the dynamic asset allocation team and report to Dianne Sandoval, HESTA’s Head of Portfolio Design.
Michael recently served as Head of Multi Asset at Pendal for seven years, leading strategy development. Previously, he was Head of Investment Strategy at Aware Super, overseeing asset allocation and strategy for A$170 billion in assets. He also spent over five years at Perpetual as Head of Diversified Strategies and Portfolio Manager. With over 10 years as an actuarial Principal Consultant, Michael is recognised as one of Australia's leading experts in investment strategy.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
