Global Investment Institute congratulates Sue Brake on joining Aware Super as a member of the Investment Committee.
Aware Super manages a A$190 billion portfolio on behalf of the Fund’s 1.15 million members.
Sue brings over 25 years of leadership experience and serves as a trusted advisor to some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated investment institutions, offering expertise in portfolio strategy, and organisational strategy and governance. She currently holds a position on the Board of the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation and is a member of the Investment and Risk Advisory Panel, which advises the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Most recently, Sue held the role of Chief Investment Officer at the Future Fund until 2022. Her previous roles include Senior Investment Consultant and Head of Strategic Advisory at WTW, External Expert at the International Monetary Fund, Senior Investment Strategist at the NZ Super Fund and Global Head of Strategy and Head of Capital Markets, Global Wholesale Financial Services at the National Australia Bank.
Sue holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Canterbury, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Auckland.
