Zlatan Kapetanovic,

Zlatan is the Founder and Managing Director of Global Investment Institute and has been connecting institutional and family office investors with their peers and global investment experts through world-class events and media coverage for more than 10 years.

Global Investment Institute seeks to optimise outcomes for members, constituents and stakeholders of institutional asset owner organisations through the pursuit of global best practice in capital allocation and management.

Global Investment Institute’s network comprises of senior decision makers at the C-suite and investment team level responsible for assessing strategies and making capital allocation decisions, representing superannuation/pension funds, government funds, statutory funds, insurers, endowments and other large institutions as well as single and multi-family offices, and private wealth managers with institutional sized portfolios.

Prior to establishing the Global Investment Institute, Zlatan spent 7+ years as an executive with the former Centre for Investor Education (CIE), the Australian subsidiary of Institutional Investor, before its closure in 2019. Most recently, he held the title, Head of Research and Institutional Content and, before that, Institutional Sales and Marketing Strategist.

Previously, Zlatan was a Senior Industry Analyst at global business information provider, IBISWorld. During the 2006 Census, Zlatan worked as a District Manager for the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Zlatan holds a Bachelor of Business (Distinction) from RMIT University, with a double major in Economics and Finance.

Zelda Tupicoff, Chief Operating Officer, Global Investment Institute

Zelda is the Chief Operating Officer of Global Investment Institute responsible for heading up business development, strategy, and scaling of Global Investment Institute. Zelda is also the head of family office events and is responsible for managing relationships with domestic and global family office investment leaders.

Zelda is an experienced executive and most recently held the position Chief Operating Officer at Australia’s largest B2B publisher Prime Creative Media where she was responsible for achieving the organisation’s revenue targets through the management of sales managers and over 30 business development managers across channels including print, digital, and events.

She is the former CEO of an international niche publishing and event company, was on the Victorian committee of Publishers Australia, and has been a guest lecturer on B2B publishing at RMIT University.

Nicole Browne, Operations Manager, Global Investment Institute

Nicole is the Operations Manager of Global Investment Institute responsible for heading up the administration of events and the operations for the broader Global Investment Institute business.

Nicole is an accomplished association event manager and agile customer success leader with over 15 years’ experience delivering a large range of national and international in-person and hybrid events.

Nicole held management roles at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) for 13 years and was also the National Manager of Conferences and Events at The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Before joining the Global Investment Institute, Nicole served as Head of Client Services at Arinex (formerly Delegate Connect), where she led client engagement for four years.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business from Victoria University.

Joanne (Jo) Murphy, Chair, Investment Forums & Roundtables, Global Investment Institute

Jo is the Chair of Global Investment Institute’s investment forums and roundtables. She has been in Asia for over 25 years, predominantly based in Hong Kong but with two valuable years spent in Singapore. She has held several senior Asia Pacific-wide management positions, successfully leading sales, business development, marketing and client relationship management divisions for major institutions; she has built and managed large and effective regionally located teams and established and overseen regional offices.

Jo was expatriated to Hong Kong, with Morgan Stanley (in early 1997) and has worked for several global institutions including HSBC Securities Services (previously Bank of Bermuda), Deutsche Asset Management, Fortis Bank, Triple A Partners, and most recently the CAIA Association where she was Managing Director and Head of APAC.  Jo’s roles have covered intermediary, buy and sell side, education and entrepreneurial groups, each focusing on the alternative investment and private market sectors. 

Jo enjoys the reputation of being hard-working, capable, committed and commercial; is a seasoned presenter and sought-out moderator regularly contributing to leading forums addressing topical aspects of the financial services sector, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific private markets landscape.  Jo was a founding member of the Hong Kong AIMA Chapter and previously held roles on its Executive and Education Committees.   Further, she also holds several corporate and NFP advisory positions, is a Fellow of the Singapore University of Social Sciences as well as an advisory council member of UPACA Gurukul (India) and is the Board Chair for the Financial Times FT Board Director Programme.

Ray founded Sovereign Investment Research in 2000 as a specialist alternative investment and research advisory company. He was the first employee of Industry Fund Services in 1994 with responsibility for the formation and management of the investment advisory business (now Frontier Advisers) and alternative investment funds management (now IFM Investors).

His career has included being the Chief Economist for several public authorities including Telstra. He has an Honours Degree in Economics (specialising in Econometrics) from Monash University, Australia and is a life member of CIMA Australia.

Rob is Principal Consultant at Callidum Investment Research where his primary focus is on providing consulting advice to funds in addressing the investment and governance challenges they face. He is also founder and  Chairperson at People Reaching Out to People (PROP), a mental health education initiative focused on addressing the underlying stigma often associated with depression and anxiety, aimed at suicide prevention.

Previously, Rob was the Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific of Lazard Asset Management, where he spent more than 15 years of his career. Before that, he held the Head of Research role at van Eyk Research and was the Director, Head of International Equities at State Super, prior to that.

Rob has a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Exeter, England and a Bachelor degree in Economics from University of Maryland, USA.

Rob Leck, Senior Manager, Total Portfolio Risk & Regulatory Modelling, REST

Rob is Head of Investment Risk at REST. Most recently he was a Director at Cutter Associates, with responsibility for serving the organisation’s superannuation and fund manager clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Rob has more than 15 years of experience in financial services in portfolio construction, asset allocation, portfolio management, investment risk, investment systems, quantitative solutions, and performance. His expertise spans the superannuation, asset management, and treasury spaces as a portfolio manager and quantitative specialist supporting the end-to-end investment process.

Prior to joining Cutter, Rob was a senior portfolio manager in QSuper’s investment strategy team, where his responsibilities included asset allocation, whole of portfolio construction, and risk management, as well as supporting the equities, fixed income, and alternatives teams. Previously, Rob was a senior portfolio manager for the Cbus’ fixed income asset class as well as manager of the quantitative solutions team. He also has served as a senior investment risk analyst at Vanguard Investments Australia and a senior quantitative analyst at the Queensland Treasury Corp.
