Global Investment Institute congratulates Leigh Gavin on his promotion to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer role at Cbus.
Cbus is a superannuation fund with A$100 billion in assets under management and 920,000+ members.
Leigh joined Cbus in 2023. Prior to his promotion to the Deputy CIO role, he was the Head of Portfolio Strategies. He takes over the Deputy CIO role from Alexandra Campbell who recently departed the organisation.
"Leigh has done an exceptional job continuing the build out of internal equity strategies, and enhanced key strategic portfolio initiatives and business management activities. Leigh will continue to look at ways we can bring further strategies in-house as part of Cbus' five-year investment strategy. We are very well placed to continue the successful build out of our internal capabilities under Leigh”, commented Brett Chatfield, Chief Investment Officer of Cbus.
Prior to joining Cbus, Leigh was the Head of Investment Model Design at AustralianSuper after joining the fund’s Total Portfolio Management team in April 2021. Previously, he was the Chief Investment Officer at LUCRF for five years, following more than 14 years at Frontier Advisors as Senior (Principal) Consultant from 2007 until 2016, after joining as an Analyst in 2002. Leigh’s career began at Arthur Anderson as an Associate, where he worked in assurance and business advisory.
Leigh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of Finsia. He also holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investments, and a Masters of Applied Finance and Investments, both through Finsia.
We wish Leigh all the best in his new role and continued success to the team at Cbus.
