Global Investment Institute congratulates Paul Murray on his appointment as the Chief Investment Officer of legalsuper.

Legalsuper manages the retirement wealth of the legal community, representing more than 41,000 members and with more than A$5 billion in assets under management.

Paul was appointed in March 2024 and reports to the Chief Executive, Luke Symons. His role is central to the future strategic direction of the Fund. Paul has 25+ years’ experience across investment management and capital markets.

Prior to joining legalsuper, Paul was the interim head of alternatives at Future Fund, a role he took on after serving as director, portfolio strategy for one year. He left Future Fund in mid-2022, becoming a Fellow of US think tank AIF Global's Center for Private Capital Investing. Previously, Paul spent more than 16 years at Victorian Funds Management Corporation, across several senior roles, including head of asset class - debt and absolute returns, as well as head of portfolio management. Paul also worked at Macquarie Group, Bankers Trust Australia and the RBA, during his career.

Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.
