GII congratulates Scott Rissman on his appointment to the role Portfolio Manager, Income and Markets at Aware Super (Aware).
Aware is one of Australia’s larges industry funds providing superannuation, advice and retirement solutions to those who teach, nurse, care, respond and help others in our communities. The Fund currently manages a combined asset pool of AU$155 billion on behalf of its 1.1 million members.
Scott joined Aware on 15 March 2023. He is responsible for the performance of the global market’s strategies and trading capabilities, and delivery of markets solutions for the Fund. Aware’s Income and Markets team is responsible for all internal trading capabilities, including maintaining the Fund’s asset allocation, and over AU$6.5 billion invested across global credit markets. Scott was formerly the Director of Overlay Solutions and Implementation at QIC.
Aware’s Head of Income and Markets, Michael Clavin said the Fund was excited to add Scott’s expertise to drive the it’s performance of the global markets’ strategies and trading capabilities, particularly given recent market volatility.
“With decades of experience, Scott will add deep and strategic expertise to Aware Super’s exposure management capabilities, with a particular focus on macro and hedging strategies with execution across multiple asset classes, such as equities, rates fixed income in both domestic and global markets.
“He will also be pivotal in delivering a securities finance strategy that will not only originate, but structure trades to optimise collateral and liquidity to generate returns for the Fund.”
