Global Investment Institute congratulates Priya Patel on her promotion to the role Head of ESG at TelstraSuper.
Originally established exclusively for Telstra employees, today TelstraSuper is a leading profit-to-member superannuation fund this is open for anyone to join. The Fund manages approximately A$24 billion in assets on behalf of more than 100,000 members across Australia.
Priya joined TelstraSuper in August 2023 as a Sustainable Investment Manager and assumed the role Acting Head of ESG in February 2024, before being made the permanent Head of ESG of the Fund. Priya is also an ACSI Adviosry Council Member and part of the Certification Assessment Panel (CAP) for the Responsible Investment Association Australasia. The CAP is a delegate of the RIAA Board and is responsible for administering the certification program and approving all certified products. Previously, Priya was a Senior Responsible Investment Adviser at Frontier Advisors and an ESG Manager-Investment Stewardship at the Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC).
Priya’s experience spans across the property, infrastructure, corporate, government, investment, and banking sectors, having served in senior roles with material influence underpinned by deep knowledge and expertise in the ESG fields.
She has extensive experience in integrating ESG objectives as part of the investment and operational activities, engaging with executive management and key stakeholders to influence change, identifying opportunities, and 'connecting dots' in a commercially pragmatic manner to address complex ESG risks and opportunities.
