Global Investment Institute congratulates Justin Pascoe on joining Cbus Super as the Head of Portfolio Construction.
Cbus Super is an industry superannuation fund, established in 1984, eight years before super became compulsory in Australia, when it was known as the Building Unions Superannuation Scheme. Today, Cbus manages assets in excess of A$94 billion (as of 30 June 2024) on behalf of more than 920,000 members.
As the Head of Portfolio Construction, Justin will drive the overall portfolio construction and management function with oversight of the Fund’s asset allocation, execution and investment options areas. He will also be a key member of the Fund’s investment leadership team.
Justin has extensive experience in leadership roles across asset owner organisations, having most recently been the Head of Equities at AustralianSuper, responsible for both Australian and Global Listed Equities and the Private Equity program. Prior to that he was the Chief Investment Officer of the Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC), a government agency that provides investment and funds management services to Victorian public authorities such as TAC, WorkSafe and ESSSuper. Justin also lived and worked in Hong Kong for various fund managers including Goldman Sachs Asset Management and State Street Global Advisors.
Justin is a CFA charterholder and received his Bachelor of Commerce from University of Melbourne with a major in Actuarial Studies.
