GII congratulates Padraig (Paddy) Brown on his appointment as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Mercer New Zealand, having held the position of interim CIO since May 2022.

Paddy will have permanent responsibility for the New Zealand Investment Management team and all Mercer funds in New Zealand. This promotion also sees him promoted to Partner in the Mercer business.

Paddy has been with Mercer since 2011 and has been a key leader in the Pacific Investment team, most recently as the Head of Real Estate for Australia and New Zealand where he was the portfolio manager for the top performing AU$3 billion Mercer Australian Property Fund and Mercer Trans-Tasman Property Funds, as well as being a member of both, the Pacific Investment Committee and the Global Real Assets Investment Committee.

Previously, Paddy worked in London at Blackrock, JLL and Credit Suisse, before joining Mercer in Sydney and returning home to Auckland in 2018.
