GII congratulates Craig Matthew on his appointment as the Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand of Pretium.
Pretium is a specialised investment firm focused on US residential real estate, residential credit, and corporate credit. Pretium manages approximately US$50 billion of assets and employs approximately 4,000 people across more than 30 offices globally.
In his role as Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Craig is responsible for leading business development and client service in the region and brings nearly three decades of industry experience to the role, having worked across many asset classes in both institutional and wealth management markets during his career, splitting his time between Sydney and New York. Craig will be based in Sydney and Pretium is establishing an office in Sydney, the firm’s first in Australia, to support him. “We are delighted to have recruited such a talented and respected professional in Craig to work with our clients in Australia and New Zealand.” says Jennifer Strickland, Pretium’s Head of Business Development.
Most recently Craig worked with Morpheus Ventures / Asia Principal Capital (APCL) in bringing venture capital to the Australian market. Earlier in his career, Craig worked as a Director, Institutional Relationships with both Capital Croup and AllianceBernstein with responsibility for building and managing institutional relationships with superannuation, sovereign and wealth management firms across Australia and New Zealand.
