GII congratulates Andrew Fisher on his promotion, having been appointed the Head of Investment Strategy at Australian Retirement Trust (ART).

ART came into existence recently (2022), following the completion of the merger between two of Australia’s largest superannuation funds, SunSuper and QSuper, creating a new mega fund with AU$240 billion in assets under management and more than 3 million members.

Andrew commenced in his new role on Monday, 27 March 2023, taking over from Damian Lillicrap who finished up with the fund on Friday, 31 March 2023. Their positions differ in that Damian was the head of investment strategy at QSuper, overseeing it’s portfolios, while Andrew covers both the Super Savings and QSuper options, having previously been the head of portfolio strategy at SunSuper.

Andrew joined Australian Retirement Trust in 2010 (SunSuper). In his new role he has responsiblity for managing strategy, asset allocation and investment risk for the super savings investment options at ART.

He has over 18 years of experience in the investment industry. His recent experience has included roles with the Guardians of New Zealands Superannuation as an Investment Strategist and with Milliman as a Consultant.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia and holds a Bachelor or Commerce and a Bachelor of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

The rest of ART’s investment leadership team comprises Ian Patrick, chief investment officer, Charles Woodhouse, deputy chief investment officer; Herbert Chang, head of capital markets; Nicole Bradford, head of sustainable investment; Michael Weaver, head of global real assets; Elizabeth Kumaru, head of private corporate assets; and Greg Barnes, head of public markets.

We wish Andrew all the best in his new role and continued success to the team at ART.
